Published!

A few days ago I found an advanced copy of the Feb/Mar 2011 Stamper's Sampler in my mailbox...you know what that means!!
Remember all the cards I did from the fat quarter of egg material? Well, I sent the best of the bunch to Stamper's Sampler and they published 4 out 5!! Here they are:

I stamped over the fabric with the Hero Arts FRIENDS DEFINITION.

I love the "Nesting Place" details - those are sequins with rhinestones.

A cork scrap put to good use.

If you get the magazine - compare this picture to the published one. I stamped the image in Coffee Archival...looks ORANGE in the magazine.

Tune in tomorrow to see my last posting as a Visiting Artist over at Gingersnap Creations!!

Eggstravaganza! Finale and Blog Candy

A few more egg cards. At least the backgrounds I wanted to finish.

I'm offering these two backgrounds as blog candy. Leave a comment if you're interested. I'll randomly pick a name on Friday, the 18th.

This is a bit plain but I like the CAS feel of it.

Stamps: none

I stamped and distressed the tag. The three central eggs were colored with Copics (BG10, BG45) and then glittered.

Eggstravagnza! #4

Tired of egg material yet??
I sewed this single egg on the cardstock because it was a extra scrap. I wasn't sure what I would do with until the little bird punch remnant fell on it. It looked like a bird couple hatching their first child. So it needed a little "excelsior" nest.

Stamps: none
Paper: 7 Gypsies
Ink: none
Accessories: excelsior, brads, Martha Stewart bird punch

Eggstravagnza!, pt 2

I noticed on the egg cards I'm posting that they have a "BIRD" theme but no birds! Today is another example (ok, there are little birds). I stamped the feather on a strip of French page paper and then hit it with some coppery glitter. The "B" was stamped with Broken China and glittery embossing powder.

Stamps: Inkadinkado feather; Oxford Impressions "B"/THE BIRD'S NEST
Paper: French page scrap
Ink: Distress Ink: Vintage Photo & Broken China
Accessories: Martha Stewart Birds on a Wire punch, glitter, glue pen

Eggstravagnza!

Wow...the mojo really HIT yesterday! I sat down with my egg material backgrounds and knocked out 8 (EIGHT!) cards in about 6 hours. I finally had to quit because I couldn't sit any longer. Over the next 3 days, I'm going to share 3 of the 8 with you. The other 5 are heading out to Stamper's Sampler (wink).

This background was a remenet strip of material that I sewed down over the blocks of card stock . In the end the sentiment was the only stamping. The "B" is a Glimmer Mist chipboard letter that I first colored with Distressed Ink and then covered with "sugar" glitter (clear blue).

Stamps: Inkadinkado sentiment
Paper: card stock, kraft
Ink: Distress Ink: Broken China & Vintage Photo
Accessories: chipboard B, glitter, alphabet sticker, feather

GC55 - QUOTE

My friend, Anne Lise, stopped by for a visit before Memorial Day weekend. We've been friends for 30+ years - ever since I lived with her family in Karasjok, Norway (zoom out) as an exchange student. Anne Lise loves to quilt, so when she comes we generally go to her favorite quilting store. We spent 2 hours and she went home with three quilts to make! I bought a fat quarter of this great EGG material!

A fat quarter is 1/2 of 1/2 yard of material - 22x18. I ripped it into about 15 pieces and sewed it on to card stock. You'll probably get tired of the egg material before I'm done with all the cards! (grin)

I did this card for Gingersnap Creations challenge - QUOTE. When I broke down and bought the Tim Holtz bird/birdcage die, I decided I needed to use it A LOT. The quote is from an ARTISTIC OUTPOST set: SERENITY. The quote is "A bird does not sing because she has an answer. She sings because she has a SONG."

After sewing the material down, I pulled the loose threads out up to the sewn edge. Its pretty easy to do with cotton fabric.

Stamps: Artistic Outpost SERENITY
Paper: The Paper Studio MARABELLA
Ink: VersaMagic TURQUOISE GEM
Accessories: Tim Holtz die, material, Scrapper's floss
