Valentine's Tags & ATCs

I dug out all my Valentine goodies. I ordered some fun stuff this year too - wood hears from ArtChix, clipart from Collage Stuff and Red Lead, German scrap, ribbons and hearts. And then I did my best to channel Kris Dickinson. Kris has a collage style that I just drool over. I love every piece she makes and when she starts in with Halloween goodies...I'm in HEAVEN!

So if you're out there Kris...thanks for the never ending inspiration!

The ATC's were all made from "gift with purchase" packs from Collage Stuff.

I had a blast using up goodies I've had laying around for years! WOO HOO!

Valentine's Day Cards 2012

This year for Valentine's Day I did a matched set of cards. All "alike" in that they share the same papers and elements, but different because the paper varied so much in the words spread across the paper.

I started with my Tim Holtz cupid die and cut a bunch of them out of red glitter paper. I cut some cupids facing right and others facing left. Just flip the paper over (wink)!

The cards are all 4x4. With a bit of paper doily and red grosgrain ribbon. Simple but fun!

Tag Tuesday - VALENTINES

I'm out of practice! This is the first time this year I've gotten to play along with Louise's TAG TUESDAY challenge: VALENTINES. And this tag took me about 2 hours too long to make! I'm still not 100% happy with it but sometimes you have to say UNCLE!!

Stamps: Stampers Anonymous, Memory Box
Paper: Tag, Making Memories
Ink: Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet
Clip Art: Paper Whimsy
Accessories: Rose stickers, ticket, pearls, glitter, paper lace.

Last Valentine 2010!

Here's my last Valentine for 2010! It's also the last card kit I sent in for swapping.

I used last weeks SCS Sketch Challenge (SC266). I only colored Tilda's face and legs. The dress was paper-pieced. The background was airbrushed using Technique Junkies method called Whisped Frames. I've done something similar with Nesties but I didn't use Nesties for this card. I need a little bit more practice with the airbrush to get a smooth look.

Stamps: Magnolia BLOWING KISSES
Paper: white, pink, and designer paper
Ink: Memento
Accessories: Copics, Copic airbrush, ribbon, heart rhinestones, verse sticker, Martha Stewart border punch
Technique Junkies: WHISPED FRAMES

Valentine Card - Matchmakin' Maynard

OMG...I love this image! ISN'T HE CUTE!?!?!? I saw the stamp and sentiment last year on SCS and just had to have them. I've inked him up a couple of times but I think this is my favorite!

AND IT'S A CAS CARD THAT I LIKE!!!! (big grin)

I stressed over coloring this guy. I even tried to get Heather to color him. In the end I think he turned out great. I combined a couple of challenges on this one. The Copic Creations "feather blending" and the Tuesday Morning Sketch. Feather Blending is one of the first things, Heather tried to teach me in Copic 101. Basically, you take two different colored markers (pink and teal) and get them to blend.

Here's a close-up. I think I did a pretty good job! What do you think? He's got an undertone of pink that comes out in his nose, hands, and along his middle. His underbelly was more pink and less teal. I also used some glitter to give him BLING.

I used the sketch, which is a great CAS sketch because I wanted to highlight Maynard.

Stamps: High Hopes MATCHMAKIN' MAYNARD & sentiment
Paper: Solar White and pink stripe
Ink: Memento
Accessories: Copics, glitter, and pink heart rhinestones

Valentine Card - Love Sweater Tilda

Another card kit I sent in for a swap. This is an old Magnolia stamp called LOVE TILDA. I love this year's Valentine paper colors - pink, rose, and teal.

I used both paper and my heart Nesties for the heart. This time I have managed to use the MOJO MONDAY sketch (MOJO123). However, instead of a square or circle - I used a heart shape.

Stamps: Magnolia LOVE TILDA
Paper: Neenah Solar White, teal heart DP, pink/rose hearts DP
Ink: Memento
Accessories: Copics, branch punch, ribbon, Martha Stewart Heart punch, paper rose, red German glitter, and Nestablities

Valentine Card - Baking Cookies Tilda

I've finally started my Valentine cards! I'm in two card kit swaps that are wrapping up this week. This is one of the kits I provided.

The kit included 2 double-sided papers - here I used one paper (both sides) and a brown out of my own stash. I also used my Slice for the pink swirl on the bottom (you can kind of see it under the pink pearls). And a new branch punch from EK Success.

I also used the Mojo Monday sketch from last week but didn't get this card done in time to submit it. Ah, well...c'est la vie!

Stamps: Magnolida BAKING COOKIES, PaperTrey Ink VINTAGE LABELS, and Stampin Up! EN FRANCAIS
Paper: brown, cream, and double-sided DP
Ink: Memento, Distress Ink: Worn Lipstick
Accessories: glitter, copics, pearls, branch punch, Slice, ribbon, paper flowers, Nestablities
