A Grungey Tag and Inspirational Chunky Book pages's STILL SNOWING. I shoveled 4-5 inches out of the driveway last night; and 8-10 more inches this morning. Probably one more run will be called for later tonight.

This tag is for fun! And a couple of challenges. One challenge was to make a "giggle" card using a Crafty Secrets image. The other challenge is for Kard Krazy's Tag Tuesday challenge: Paper Piecing.

Stamps: SU! What's Brewing, Inkadinkado sentiment
Paper: brown and turquoise scraps, tag
Ink: Distress Ink: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, and Broken China
Accessories: Craft Secrets clipart, Glimmer Mist: Coffee Shop, Prima, and metallic turquoise nailheads.

These are altered 4x4 coasters for a "chunky" book swap on SCS. Once again I used a Glimmer Mist background with masks. Then I used Wet Water color method for the flowers - inking the stamp than misting with water before stamping. The half circle of dots is a fun think I learned at an Archiver's crop. Using the template below I used the largest circle of dots and placed a small dot of Glossy Accents in each hole. When it dries it adds a nice highlight to your piece.

Paper: 4x4 coasters
Ink: Distress Ink: Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Worn Lipstick; Archival black
Accessories: Glimmer Mist (Sunkissed Peach, Tuscan Sunset, Golden Terracotta), maskes, ribbon, colored staples, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, rhinestones, Glossy Accents, and journaling template.

Close up of the chunky book pages.

And one funny note. Last week, I posted a picture of Jazz parking herself RIGHT BEHIND my chair while I'm working. Today I tried to set up an area behind my chair where she was blocked off. She still managed to park herself in the open space between the "fence" areas. Gotta love a smart Lab! :D

  1. First off, where do you live? That's a lot of snow for October!
I love your tag -- fun!
That chipboard book looks great, too.

  2. Java queen -- I love it! What a great way to use that sentiment and the look on your vintage gal's face is perfect!!

Gorgeous chunky book! I'm always a fan of the real wildflower stamps and those CE accents add amazing detail/texture; super idea!!

Labs are persistent, aren't they? At least they are persistently loving (and cute!)to go along with that stubborness!

  3. Love the tag but love the coaster chunky book even more! Gorgeous! Love the softness of the colors and how the layers of colors show and the stamps are so pretty! Love your dog :) Hey I am not so interested in moving to CO. after your snowy fall - got to talk my husband out of it - he is so sick of being hot but this is a bit much :)

  4. Hi Deb! These coasters are SOOO SOOO PRETTY!! Wonderful job on these, and I love the color and butterflies! :)

We had our first snowfall a couple weeks ago, but quickly turned to sleet and then rain and haven't seen any since! :( I LIKE the snow! :)

  5. Wow your Tag is unbelievable.
    Wonderful design. Love them.

  6. Beautiful stuff, Deb--you do such glorious work! Sorry about all the snow work, but it sounds like fun to us over here on the coast! (Okay, not the shoveling part!) Hope you have a cozy, inside kind of day today!

  7. What a great tag and that coaster book is lovely!

  8. OMG DEb, I love love love these coasters!! They are stunning!! I love all the added details, the masked images and the dotty glossy accents!! wow, wow, wow!! and I think it is adorable that your dog wants to be close to you. My cat does the same thing, can't tell you how many times I've accidently rolled over her tail. You'd think she'd learn!!
