A Green Cat

So I teased you a bit yesterday about my new pet companion... If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know I lost my beloved Jazz (10 yrs old black lab) last March. While I still miss Jazz like crazy, I was ready for company again.

I always said my next dog would be a cat. And with my new work schedule there is no working from home AND I'm gone 10-12 hours a day. Not good for a dog, but a cat is a different story.

This is Poe - Edgar ELLEN Poe to be exact. I adopted her from a pet rescue group on Halloween weekend. So I joke and say "I went 'green' and recycled a cat!" Poe is 2-3 yrs old and she's a nice cat. I think she had some bad experiences on the street. She's a bit jumpy when I stand-up or move toward her. But she likes to rub and purr. And we're learning to share a bed.

(sorry about the poor quality of the picture. i took it with my iPhone and the lighting wasn't great. so my gray cat even looks green (she has green eyes tho)).

  1. Recycled cats are the best roommates -- we had our secondhand kitty, Molly, for 18 1/2 years! Now we're trying to convince DH we NEED to bring home a new kitty to fill the void.

Poe is a beauty and I love the name! Congratulations on your new buddy!!

  4. Isn't she pretty?! Do they call her a "blue cream"? That's what our kittie is, and your Poe looks similar. I guess what it means is a "dilute tortoiseshell". Congratulations!

  6. She is a beauty, I have one recycled cat and two bought from breeder as I did a lot of research and wanted Ragdolls, because of cuddliness lol, my beautiful older recycled is more cuddly then those two, but they do give me lots of laughs
